この歌は思った以上に深い歌詞です。解釈は何通りにもできるでしょう。
ただ、私が思うのは、この歌は「現実逃避してしまいたい、親の敷かれたルールから逃げ出したい」って思ってる若者が、すべてを受け入れてくれそうな”パリ”に逃げて、彼らの気持ちのいいようにつくった虚構を信じ込み、真実から目を背け、それでも二人で生きていこうともがく物語です。
本当の意味で親から逃げることなどできるでしょうか？
たとえパリに行って親から逃げられたと思っても、逃げれたことになんてなりませんし彼らは学生な時点で不可能なことです。
しかし、彼らはそのことに気づいていません。もしくは、頭の片隅では分かっているけど、認めたくないのかもしれません。お前らは何でもできた、賢かったって言われたやつに、俺らは正しかったって見せてやろうって必死になっています。そうするしかもう道がないからです。
この曲はそんな現代の若者の悩みを象徴するような楽曲です。
ちなみにパリというのはメタファーで、本当にパリだったかどうかはわかりません。リリックでも、パリは明らか大都市ですが、this small townと言っていますし、MVでも風景を観察する限りパリには見えません。（パリについては詳しくありませんが、エッ
フェル塔が見当たらないのと放射状になっていないのと山に囲まれているからです）
本当はすべて夢だったのかもしれませんね。
